Add new customers to a Google Sheet with Zapier

Build a Zap that appends a row to a Google Sheet every time a new customer is created in CleanOps.

This Zap adds a row to a Google Sheet every time a new customer is created in CleanOps — handy for building a mailing list, a backup contact list, or a feed into another tool.

Before you start: connect CleanOps to Zapier first (see connect CleanOps to Zapier), have a Google account, and create a Google Sheet with a header row (for example Name, Email, Phone) for the rows to land in.

  1. Before you start

You need CleanOps connected to Zapier (connect CleanOps to Zapier), a Google account, and a Google Sheet with a header row — the column names (e.g. Name, Email, Phone) become the fields you map to.

  2. 1

Create a Zap and choose the New Customer trigger

In Zapier, create a new Zap. For the trigger, choose CleanOps as the app and New Customer as the event, pick your connected CleanOps account, and select Continue.

  3. 2

    Test the trigger

Select Test trigger. Zapier pulls your most recent customers from CleanOps — pick one and select Continue with selected record.

    Add a Google Sheets action

For the action step, choose Google Sheets as the app.

  5. 4

Choose Create Spreadsheet Row and connect Google

Pick the Create Spreadsheet Row action event, then select Sign in to connect your Google account. When Google asks, grant access to Google Sheets and Drive (tick the permission boxes) so Zapier can add rows — otherwise the connection won’t work. Connecting an app works like connecting CleanOps.

  6. 5

    Pick your spreadsheet and worksheet

Choose your Spreadsheet and its Worksheet (for example Sheet1). Once you pick the worksheet, Zapier reads the header row and shows one field per column — here Name, Email, and Phone.

  7. 6

Map CleanOps fields to your columns

For each column, use Insert Data (the +) to drop in the matching CleanOps customer field — map Full Name into Name, Email into Email, and so on. Available fields include Full Name, Company Name, Email, City, State, Type, and recent-invoice details. Leave any column blank to skip it, then select Continue.

    Test the action

Select Test step. Zapier adds a real row to your sheet using the sample customer — you’ll see A Row(s) was sent to Google Sheets.

  9. 8

    Turn the Zap on

Select Publish. Zapier confirms Your Zap is on — from now on, every new CleanOps customer adds a row automatically.

  10. New customers now flow into your sheet

Each time a customer is created in CleanOps, a new row appears in your Google Sheet with the fields you mapped. Open the sheet any time to see the growing list.

  11. Variations
    • Different destination: swap Google Sheets for Airtable, a CRM, or an email-list app — the CleanOps trigger and field mapping work the same way.
    • Different CleanOps trigger: use Updated Customer to also capture edits, or trigger on quotes, jobs, and invoices.
